Native Americans

When I was a young child I waited in anticipation to visit a nearby 5 and 10 cent store.  It was there I anxiously waited to spend my hand full of coins on metal figures of the Lone Ranger and Tonto.  Somehow, I can still feel the sensation of their forms in my hands today.  I adored the Lone Ranger, but I never wanted to leave his sidekick Tonto in the background.  It was very exciting lying in bed listening to the radio presentations of the heroic characters always fighting injustice in the American old west and never harming anyone.  In today's world movies, TV, and various books form images of a great people, a heritage that should never be forgotten.

This is a print of Big Face Chief of the Blackfeet Tribe of Glacier National Park.  He was a member of the north Pecunnie band of Blackfeet.  His necklace and eagle wing fan mark him as a Medicine Man.  He is absolutely majestic.

Lazy Boy is also a medicine man.  The background shows his "war history."

The Blackfeet nation consists of three tribes, the Pecunnies, Bloods and Blackfeet.  This is Singing in the Clouds.

The collage of pictures from the portfolio appear to show weathered faces, but smiles are lacking.

It takes a little time to appreciate this figure standing at the side of a room, but he too has his place in history.

Here's hoping these symbols on totems bring good health, good fortune, good luck and wisdom.

Dream catchers allow good dreams to pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper.  Bad Dreams become entangled in the webbing and melt away with the morning light.

From large to small, the arrow heads tell a story.  The picture shows a Dakota Indian painting a chronology.

This shoppe sells many items related to Native Americans.  The following photos were taken of items that were very enjoyable to look at.

It is wonderful we have the internet for researching the Native American Tribes.  These people have history in making what we refer to as the Greatest Country in the World.  At no time should they be forgotten.
