A Marina Visit

A visit to the Chestnut Neck Marina was very rewarding this past summer.  It brought back pleasant memories of the time my husband, sons and I went on daily fishing trips.  Our fishing experience started with an aluminum rental craft and needless to say the experience created the desire to have our own sea worthy craft.  I say sea worthy, the truth is it never was tested in the sea.

Whenever we had the opportunity, we gathered the lunches, rods and reels and worst of all the bait. My husband attached the trailer to the car and upon our return a complete cleaning of boat, trailer and motor had to take place. Was it more work than pleasure, I'll have to think about that.

I couldn't resist taking a photo of this sign.  I'm sure the food tasted better than what was in red on the sign.

It was a calm, bright sunny day and people appeared satisfied with the catch of the day or just a pleasure cruise.

This gentleman had a great day, now it was time to make the trip home and do the clean up.

Boating has no age limit, for some it's one of life's rewards.

The gulls keep a watchful eye on the incoming crafts, they know where their next meal might be coming from.

I always liked crabbing better than fishing. As a child my family would take me crabbing and the unpleasant aroma of the crabs being cooked made them one of the foods I could not eat. I still do not eat crabs !

The little swallows where chirping away. Mother was not close by, but they were very comfortable in their little nest.

Some boats are stored on the lot, while others are brought in by trailers

Remember the Minnow and the three hour cruise?

For a true fisherman this says it all.

The end of a perfect day.
