Renault Winery "Stomping the Grapes"

Renault Winery in Egg Harbor City, NJ is nearly a century and a half old and is  recognized by the New Jersey State Historical Society.  In recent years it has become a popular tourist attraction featuring restaurants, a 50 room hotel and an  18 hole championship golf course.  Several times a year the current owner Joseph P. Milza features a festival with one of the highlights, "Stomping the Grapes."

The sign with the vineyard in the background welcomes guests.

A beautiful statue compliments the wonderful world of grapes.

These particular grapes were being used for the grape stomping event.  There was a line of individuals that wanted to take part in the memorable experience.

Take off your shoes and you are ready to enter the world of stomp, stomp, stomp.

The lady portraying "Lucy" helped to make everyone enjoy the task.

After the stomping the juice is poured into bottles to take home as a souvenir.

People were certainly enjoying the day.

This absolutely delightful couple was from Canada.  They enjoyed the festival and the time spent with a New Jersey gracious lady.

All the food offerings were very tempting and the funnel cake looked and smelled delicious.

The old wooden barrel certainly had seen better days, but it made a nice photograph.

The day was perfect if you could become the super hero you always wanted to be.

This concrete bottle has weathered many storms, since it has stood for many years along the highway featuring the winery which was founded in 1864. The Winery is also known for its free wine tasting and tours.
