Summer Rainy Weekend

It's a rainy, dreary weekend in southern New Jersey, but that is fine since the vegetation needs the precious raindrops to refresh and continue to produce the tasty fruits and vegetables from the "Garden State."

As I look outside I am reminded of some photographs I recently took while traveling on Route 9 in Ocean County, New Jersey.  It was a brilliant sunny day when I came upon a very interesting scene. Without a doubt I had to stop my vehicle and capture the moment.  I think they are worthy to share with you and perhaps deserving a smile.

The owner of the property's residence is quite a distance from the main road, and entrance is only by the opening of an electric gate.

A very colorful metal robot character appears to stand guard, but he is not alone for there are many such figures.

This not so threatening serpent casually sits on top of the fence which also secures the property.

Lady Liberty stands proud and tall.

This knight happens to be one of my favorites.  He has been placed at the entrance gate and it certainly is eye catching as you travel on Route 9.

This vintage locomotive or tractor is opposite the knight at the gate.

Enter the world of dinosaurs and dragons.

The concrete wall is quite high, but very interesting messages have been painted to instill some thinking in the reader.  A very wise saying, We Are Responsible for Our Own Children.

I would have to name this guy, "Happy."

The elephants are quite large, but it would be great to hear them trumpet a loud  realistic sound.

A clown and Native American have found their place high on the wall.

The pirate ship is the latest addition to the owner's collection.  It's always fun to see what will be next.
