Clouds and More

When I was a child, I often looked to the sky and watched the continuous transformation of Mother Nature's glorious clouds.  It was fascinating searching the cumulus clouds for imaginary formations of animals, people and other imaginative designs.  This childhood activity was not lost for it continues today.  For many years I traveled a rural road home from my place of employment and I continued looking to the sky.  A bunny rabbit, sleeping child or face would suddenly appear only to disappear in seconds .  As I think back about it now I wish I would have had my camera with me to reflect on the blue sky and wonderful cloud forms.  There are many people who use their cameras to capture clouds in motion.  Poems have been written, songs have been sung and calendars feature fantastic photographs.  As I write this I am able to look at the moving gray and white clouds for I have a sun room with glass panels and the tree branches and clouds are in motion. A beautiful view!!

                                 CLOUDS BEFORE THE SNOW STORM

                                                              THE STORM

New Jersey had its third snow storm this winter.   The beautiful sky of the night before gave way to gray clouds with precipitation in the form of snow.  Blue skies will once again appear and art work in the sky will receive our well deserved attention.

A Winter Snow

Make way for a marshmallow world.  On January 3, 2014, New Jersey had a measurable snowfall.  Since the weather was quite cold, the snow was light and fluffy, not a snowman building snow storm.  Many homes still had their holiday decorations up and the night scenes of snow and decorations were remarkably charming.  Children made good use of sleds and snow tubes because schools were not in session. The snow came mostly at night so the early morning scenes were fresh and beautiful.  It was the special time before the snow removing vehicles came through to clear the roads with scraping and salt application.  Later gusts of winds were in the forecast so it was necessary to get out the boots, down coat and camera to get the best photos.

Tall bare trees were suddenly transformed into snow covered designs.

Evergreens and laurel were heavy with the weight of the snow.

Happy to say the feeders were filled several times, so all visitors had enough to keep them busy and full.

The deer stand poised with heads held high and ears turned to catch the slightest sound.

Looking out across a frozen cranberry bog, we see a glimpse of a clearing sky.

My little dog Skeeter left her tracks, without a doubt she is not a fan of the deeper snow.

This beauty, though, will pass away and fade as everything but Mother Nature will once again send a reminder of dazzling beauty.

During the summer this is a very active stream for canoeing and kayaking.  Today it was transformed into a winter wonderland scene.

It's pure magic that tiny flakes of snow can create such wonderful scenes.  The world suddenly becomes radiant in a dress of white.
